Tan Min-Liang, named Min-Liang Tan in Razer’s company materials, co-founded the business with Robert Krakoff in 2005. Razer established an early presence in both Singapore and California, with gaming mice among its first products. Its subsequent range expanded across keyboards, headsets, laptops and the software used to configure gaming equipment.
A law graduate of the National University of Singapore, Tan also took responsibility for product design and development as Razer’s creative director. The company’s history records its public listing in November 2017. His business story brings together a clearly defined customer community and a widening set of products and services, showing how a specialist hardware company can develop beyond its original category.
